All the Fullness

Posted by on Mar 18, 2010 in Godhead

Colossians 2:9 teaches that all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus bodily. Does this mean that all of God is in Jesus? What about God’s omnipresence? Does this mean that God did not live in heaven when Jesus was on Earth? Ephesians 3:19 says that Christians are filled with all the fullness of God. Is this the same as all the fullness of the Godhead dwelling in Jesus bodily? What is ‘all the fullness’ of the Godhead?

The Right Hand of God

Posted by on Jan 31, 2010 in Godhead

The scriptures tell us that Jesus sits on the right hand of God. There have been many interpretations as to what the right hand of God refers to. Some see the right hand of God as symbolic, while others see it as literal. If it is symbolic, what could it mean? The Baptism of Jesus

Posted by on Jan 29, 2010 in Godhead

There were several events that took place during the baptism of Jesus. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist even though he had no sin. There was a voice heard from heaven. Jesus is the Son of God, and Jesus is God. Jesus is the Son in his humanity, and Jesus is the Father in his Deity, but this is not the same thing as saying the Son is the Father. There are many distinctions between the Father and the Son. There is a difference in power, and a difference in knowledge. There is a definite distinction between the two. Just because there is a distinction, does this make them two ‘persons’ within the Godhead?

A Child is Born

It was prophesied in scripture that God would come in the form of a man.

Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

What child is this that he would be called the mighty God and the Everlasting Father? This verse is one of the most powerful statements of the Deity of Jesus. This verse describes Jesus as the Father.
