For My Name’s Sake
“And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.” (Rev 2:3 KJV)
Jesus continues to commend the Church of Ephesus:
- They have borne (carried on)
- They have patience
- The labored for the name of Jesus
The Church of Ephesus was commended because of the labor they did for the name of Jesus. Jesus is the only saving name.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Act 4:12 KJV)
We are to do all things in the name of Jesus.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Col 3:17 KJV)
The Church of Ephesus did not work for their own recognition, but rather to give recognition to Jesus. We will always work and fight for the name of Jesus.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” (Mat 10:22 KJV)
“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” (Mat 24:9 KJV)
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Mar 13:13 KJV)
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” (Luk 21:17 KJV)
