Right Hand
“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne” (Rev 5:1a KJV)
Revelation 5 is primarily symbolic. In Scripture, the right hand is symbolic of power and authority.
“Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.” (Exo 15:6 KJV)
“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psa 16:8 KJV)
“And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.” (Psa 77:10 KJV)
“O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.” (Psa 98:1 KJV)
“For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.” (Psa 109:31 KJV)
“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” (Psa 110:1 KJV)
“Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.” (Isa 48:13 KJV)
“The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:” (Isa 62:8 KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” (Mat 26:64 KJV)
“Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (1Pe 3:22 KJV)
We see Jesus sitting on the right hand of God, and then we see Jesus has all power and authority. This is symbolic of the fact that Jesus is God.
“20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
(Eph 1:20-23 KJV)
The Seven Sealed Book
“a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.” (Rev 5:1b KJV)
The book with the seven seals is often seen as a title-deed showing Jesus is the rightful owner of all things.
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psa 24:1 KJV)
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1Co 6:20 KJV)
“Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” (1Co 7:23 KJV)
The book contains the plan that God has set in motion in the end-times. Each seal is representative of events that God would pour out upon the earth. As the seals are broken, we see the events that correspond to those seals. These events, which begin in chapter 6, are the wrath of God that is poured out on the inhabitants of the world – the Great Tribulation period.
GOD bless you.
