Make War with the Saints

“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” (Rev 13:7 KJV)

Satan’s goal is to rule over everyone and persecute anyone that will not obey – specifically God’s people. Satan wants to rule and persecute Israel. This time he has power over all kindreds, nations, and tongues; showing that he is the world ruler.

Speaking Great Things and Blasphemies

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”

(Rev 13:5-6 KJV)

The antichrist will be a great speaker. He will be charismatic and easily get people’s attention.

Who Can Make War with Him?

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” (Rev 13:4 KJV)

In the last part of the tribulation period man will worship Satan and the antichrist.

Wounded to Death

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” (Rev 13:3 KJV)

There is a lot of speculation as to the deadly wound of the beast being healed. There are two primary teachings:

One possibility is that the antichrist is actually killed and resurrected by Satan, possibly through the false prophet. Some believe that he is actually indwelt by Satan and that Satan rules through him. This could be Satan’s attempt to mimic the resurrection of Jesus.

The Beast

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (Rev 13:2 KJV)

The beast is symbolic of the antichrist and the kingdoms he rules. The antichrist gets his position from Satan who rules the kingdoms. The beast and the kingdoms were prophesied by Daniel.

Out of the Sea

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Rev 13:1 KJV)

The sea represents the world nations. The beast rising out of the sea is a compilation of the final world government, which many consider to be the revised Roman Empire, that will consist of ten kingdoms that will be under the control of the antichrist, and the antichrist himself, which will come from one of the ten kingdoms.
