The Seven Stars
“And he had in his right hand seven stars” (Rev 1:16a KJV)
The seven stars in His right hand are the pastors of the seven Churches, described as the angels of the Churches in verse 20.
“The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” (Rev 1:20-1 KJV)
A Sharp Twoedged Sword
“and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:” (Rev 1:16b KJV)
The twoedged sword is the Word of God, which He will judge all mankind. We are given His Word as our roadmap, and we will be judged by it. There will be no surprises. God does not have a hidden rulebook, but He will judge according to the Word He has given us.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12 KJV)
Countenance as the Sun
“and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” (Rev 1:16c KJV)
Jesus was the human form of God.
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” (Phi 2:6 KJV)
The face of Jesus was bright and powerful, full of the glory of God. John saw this before, when he saw Jesus transfigured before him.
“And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.” (Mat 17:2 KJV)
