War in Heaven
“7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
(Rev 12:7-11 KJV)
Up to this point Satan has been allowed to come before God’s throne to accuse the brethren. At the mid-point of the tribulation period Michael and his army of angels are allowed to fight Satan and his demons and cast them from heaven to the earth. In response, Satan will unleash his full wrath upon the inhabitants of Earth for the second half of the tribulation period- the section of the tribulation period many refer to as The Great Tribulation or Time of Trouble in Daniel.
“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Dan 12:1 KJV)
