The Defender’s Guide for Life’s Toughest Questions, Ray Comfort

The Defender’s Guide for Life’s Toughest Questions by Ray Comfort seeks to provide answers to many of the questions we face every day in the world. We are constantly bombarded with mockers and skeptics in the workplace, in school, on the Internet, with our friends, our families, and sometimes even in our Churches. This book provides answers to many of those mocking questions that people use to discredited God, the Bible, and our faith.

The questions we face are always the same: Hitler, slavery, evolution, science, the accuracy of the Bible, and on and on. Ray Comfort provides solid answers to these tough questions, strengthening our arguments against the skeptics, and helping us to be better defenders of God’s Word.

Comfort divides the questions into several sections, including humanity (suffering), the Bible (theological issues- I don’t agree with every point, but that’s a different subject), science (evolution), philosophy (humanism and worldviews), and religion (including atheism). He handles each topic well and provides many references for further study. I especially liked the chapter on science. He doesn’t just say that something is right or wrong; he shows why it is right or wrong. For example, he shows scientifically why evolution doesn’t work and points out flaws in evolutionist’s logic, backing up his points with science.

I recommend The Defender’s Guide for Life’s Toughest Questions by Ray Comfort. It isn’t possible to answer every question in just one book, but it does answer many and most questions use the same basis. It is very readable and enjoyable. With today’s constant bombardment of skepticism, this is a much-needed book to help anyone defending God’s Word and their faith.
