The Father Manifested

Posted by on Sep 13, 2010 in Godhead

1 John 3:1-6 is an interesting passage. It reveals that the Father was manifested as our Savior.

1Jo 3:1-6 KJV Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Did God Forsake Jesus on the Cross?

Posted by on Aug 27, 2010 in Godhead, Salvation

Just before his death, Jesus asked:

Mat 27:46 KJV And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Did God really forsake Jesus just as he was giving his life as a sacrifice for the sins of the world? Does this verse prove a separation between the Father and the Son? Did God leave Jesus on the cross just before he died? Did the Father separate Himself from the Son?

The LORD Appeared to Abraham

Posted by on Jul 17, 2010 in Godhead

While in the plains of Mamre, Abraham got a visit from three men. When Abraham saw them, he ran out to meet them. Abraham ran up to them and identified one of them as Lord. Some have used this passage to teach the trinity. Others have used this passage to teach tritheism. Was this an appearance of God? If so, how? Who were the three men that Abraham saw?
