Biblical Interpretation

Posted by on May 27, 2010 in Bible Study Methods

The Bible is simple, and yet profound. The Word of God is our roadmap, but so many get lost and confused in the interpretation. Our interpretation of Scripture changes the way we act, the way we talk, and the way we live. Without proper interpretation principles, any doctrine can be taught. There are thousands of denominations today, even though we were given one gospel. In order to fully understand God’s Word, it must be interpreted correctly.

The Armor of God

Posted by on May 16, 2010 in Holiness

God calls us to be warriors. He calls us to defend the faith and to stand on truth. He calls us to give an answer to those that ask of us the reason of the hope that is in us. He doesn’t call us to defend and then leave us without help. He gives us the Armor of God.

Ephesians 6:11-17 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Our Creator

Posted by on May 13, 2010 in Creation, Godhead

The scriptures tell us that God created all things. We are the special creation of God. Some verses say Jesus created all things, while other verses say the Father is the creator of all things. Is this two ‘persons’ that are creating the universe together? Is this a contradiction? If this is not a contradiction in Scripture, then this brings us to this question: who is our Creator?

God’s Word, Our Mirror – Thoughts on James 1:22-27

Posted by on May 11, 2010 in Holiness, The Bible

James 1:22-27 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.  26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.  27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

One Throne in Heaven

Posted by on May 2, 2010 in Godhead

Whom will we see in heaven? Will we see one, or three? Will we see one throne, or three? If we say there in one throne, then who is sitting on the throne? Is Jesus sitting on the right hand of God? If we say there are three thrones, would that be a tritheistic view of God?. How many thrones are there and who is sitting on the throne? Many do not have a clear understanding of how we will see God in heaven. What do the Scriptures say?

The Father Sent the Son

Posted by on Apr 28, 2010 in Godhead

The Father sent the Son into the world to become the ultimate sacrifice for sin. Does this mean that Jesus pre-existed in heaven as the Son of God? Many have seen the fact that Jesus was sent by the Father as proof of multiple ‘persons’ within the Godhead. Does this make Jesus a ‘member’ of the Godhead?
