The Book of Revelation 10:3-4

Seven Thunders

3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.”

(Rev 10:3-4 KJV)

The seven thunders have intrigued Bible scholars for centuries. They are part of the coming wrath and judgment of the world. John was commanded not to write what the seven thunders uttered, so there’s no way we can know in advance what they are. This means that amidst the seven trumpets, vials, and bowls, there are seven judgments that we don’t even know about. We are not even told why God chose to keep them a secret. We just know that His secrets are His prerogative to keep.

“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deu 29:29 KJV)

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Dan 12:4 KJV)

8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”

(Dan 12:8-9 KJV)
