The Book of Revelation 19:4

Fell Down and Worshipped

And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. (Rev. 19:4 KJV)

The 24 elders and the four beasts worship God in celebration of the victory over Babylon and the beast, and for avenging those that were martyred.

This parallels the scene in heaven before the Great Tribulation started.

9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Rev. 4:9-11 KJV)

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. (Rev. 5:14 KJV)

Amen – 281 ἀμήν amen {am-ane’}

Meaning:  1) firm 1a) metaph. faithful 2) verily, amen 2a) at the beginning of a discourse – surely, truly, of a truth 2b) at the end – so it is, so be it, may it be fulfilled. It was a custom, which passed over from the synagogues to the Christian assemblies, that when he who had read or discoursed, had offered up solemn prayer to God, the others responded Amen, and thus made the substance of what was uttered their own.

Meaning:  1) praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah

Origin:  of Hebrew origin from 01984 and 03050; TDNT – 1:264,43; interj imper

Usage:  AV – alleluia 4; 4

  1. Who are the beasts in rev. 19:4 should the name beast be changed
    to four living creatures: So we have a mis-translation of the
    name beasts:
