The Book of Revelation 3:19

Chasten

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:” (Rev 3:19z KJV)

Someone who truly loves us will correct us when we do wrong. God will not let us go astray without trying to bring us back. He will rebuke us for the wrong we do and attempt to correct us. He does this through His Word and through His Church. We should not ignore or despise God’s correction, but welcome it and accept it.

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.”

(Pro 3:11-12 KJV)

“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” (Heb 12:6 KJV)

Zealous

“be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Rev 3:19b KJV)

God wants us to be zealous for Him, not live for Him haphazardly and nonchalantly as if we really don’t mean it. We should have a zeal to live for God. We should have a true devotion to God and His work. We should seek to obey and please God rather than ourselves.
