The Book of Revelation – Introduction

The book of Revelation is a message from Jesus to the Church concerning the end time. It was written by the Apostle John as he was on the Isle of Patmos around 95 A.D. Jesus came to him in a vision and showed him things concerning the end of human history.  It is a type of writing known as apocalyptic (unveiling something hidden, futuristic). The major themes include the Seven Churches in Asia, the Rapture of the Church, the Great Tribulation, the Second Coming of Jesus, the Millennium Kingdom, the final judgment, and New Jerusalem.

In this study (over the next few months) we will go through the book of Revelation, look at various different views and opinions, and learn how to interpret the book of Revelation in light of other Scripture.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Rev 1:3 KJV)
